The Welding Institute, Cambridge
This project involved the redevelopment of The Welding Institute site in Granta Park, Cambridge, to create a series of new structures connected to the existing Bevan Braithwaite building by means of a link street. The three buildings, which have a combined floor area of 25,000 m², are occupied by a mixture of research and development, educational and training spaces, with an impressive reception, restaurant, café, conference facilities, library, lecture theatre, office accommodation, laboratories, teaching spaces, PHD write-up areas and an Engineering Hall.
MSL supported the main contractor throughout the construction phase of the project with design, quality, programme, progress and commissioning management in relation to the mechanical, electrical and public health engineering services.
